Mel B., a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1950, was a well-known recovery author and speaker. He contributed to Pass It On, the authorized biography of AA co-founder Bill W., and wrote New Wine, a study of the spiritual roots of AA published by Hazelden in 1991.
